Day 1: Marrakech – Asni Pass – Imlil (1,740m) – Sidi Chamharosh (2,400m) – Toubkal Refuge (3,207m)
Morning Pickup
- Pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech.
- Drive for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to Imlil Valley.
Trek Preparation in Imlil
- Meet your local, certified guide in Imlil, a picturesque village nestled at the foot of the High Atlas.
- Check your gear, ensure you have enough water and any essential supplies, and get a briefing about the trek route.
Mzik Valley Ascent
- Begin your trek through the Valley of Mzik.
- Pass through traditional Berber villages, including Armed Village, which sits at approximately 1,900 metres—among the highest inhabited points in the region.
Lunch at Sidi Chamharosh
- Stop for lunch at Sidi Chamharosh, a serene spot near a running river. Enjoy freshly prepared Moroccan dishes and hot mint tea.
- Take time to relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere before continuing your ascent.
Afternoon Trek to Toubkal Refuge
- After lunch, continue towards the Toubkal Refuge at 3,207 metres.
- The trail steepens, but the stunning mountainous backdrop more than compensates.
- Arrive at the Refuge in the late afternoon, allowing you to settle in and rest after approximately 5–6 hours of trekking.
Overnight at the Toubkal Refuge
- Spend the night in the communal dormitories of the Refuge (private rooms may be arranged depending on availability).
- Dinner will be served early, giving you time to rest and prepare for the next day’s summit push.
Day 2: Toubkal Refuge (3,207m) – Toubkal Summit (4,168m) – Return to Imlil – Marrakech
