    Frequently Asked Questions

This tour is ideal for adventurous skiers with previous ski touring or off-piste experience. A good fitness level is required, as the itinerary includes challenging ascents and long ski descents.

You should be comfortable skiing off-piste in variable snow conditions. Experience in ski touring or mountaineering is recommended, but not essential if you are a confident skier.

Daily skiing durations range from 5 to 7 hours, with varying elevation gains between 900m and 1,700m. The most demanding day is the ascent and descent of Mount Toubkal.

Temperatures in the High Atlas vary depending on altitude and season. Expect cold conditions, with daytime temperatures ranging from -10°C to 5°C at high elevations.

    Accommodation includes:

    • Marrakech: Hotel stay (Days 1 & 8)
    • Mountain Refuge: Shared dormitories in the Neltner Refuge
    • Local Lodges: Traditional Berber accommodations in mountain villages

All meals are included during the ski touring expedition. Expect hearty Moroccan dishes, including tagines, soups, and fresh bread. Vegetarian options are available.

We recommend one main rucksack (30-40L) for essentials during the trek. Mules will carry additional gear to the mountain refuge.

The trek reaches altitudes above 4,000m, so mild altitude symptoms may occur. Our guides ensure a gradual ascent for safe acclimatisation.

Transfers from Marrakech to Imlil (starting point) and back are included. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours by car.

The best months for High Atlas Ski Touring are January to April, when snow conditions are at their peak.
